A Weekend in Durango
Lola's Place
Visit websiteDowntown Durango.
Friday, September 25 · 5:30–9:30 PM
Everyone is invited to join us for dinner (tacos) and drinks to kick off the wedding weekend! This will be a very casual event — come and go as you want! Plan on coordinating your own transportation to/from this event.
Attire: Casual. Think jeans, sweaters, and a jacket. This event will be indoor/outdoor — it gets chilly in the evenings!
Prospector at Glacier
Visit websiteLocated about 20 minutes north of downtown Durango.
Saturday, September 26 · 4:30 PM – until they kick us out
4:30–5:00 PM: Wedding Ceremony (outdoors, weather permitting)
5:00 PM onwards: Cocktails, dinner, and dancing (outdoors/indoors, weather permitting)
Attire: Relaxed cocktail. Think cocktail dresses and dark jeans with a blazer (no tie required). If you want to lean into western wear, Durango is the perfect place — cowboy boots, bolo ties, and hats are welcome.
Prospector at Glacier Club is on the same property as the Tamarron Lodge. It's about a 5–10 minute walk from each other, so transportation will not be provided.
Durango Hot Springs

If you're still hanging around Durango, we'd love for you to join us at the hot springs to detox and say farewell. This is not a formally coordinated event — you will need to purchase your own tickets if you'd like to join!

Getting to Durango
We know Durango isn't the easiest place to get to—but we promise Southwest Colorado is worth the journey.
Durango–La Plata County Airport (DRO)
The easiest way to arrive. A small regional airport about 20 minutes to downtown Durango and another ~20 minutes up the valley to Glacier Club. Rental cars are available on site.
Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ)
A great alternative with more flight options. Roughly a 3.5-hour drive to Durango through beautiful New Mexico and southern Colorado scenery. Rental cars are readily available.
Road Trip from Denver
About a 6.5–7 hour drive through the San Juan Mountains. If you're turning the weekend into a Colorado adventure, some of our favorite stops along the way include Buena Vista, Del Norte, and Pagosa Springs.
Accommodations
While our events are only over the weekend, Southwest Colorado is an incredible place to explore. If you're able, we'd highly recommend making a little trip out of it—feel free to reach out with any ideas, since we'll be in the area for weeks on both sides of the wedding.
Tamarron Resort (Onsite at Glacier Club)
Our top suggestion for the weekend. Renting a unit at Tamarron keeps you up the valley and close to the wedding festivities. Units in Tamarron Lodge or Pine Cone are under a 5‑minute walk to the venue. Gambel Oak is also a great Tamarron option, just a slightly longer walk. Browse units here.
We have a 10% discount code for Tamarron—use RETURN10 at checkout.
The Strater Hotel
Visit websiteA classic Durango stay right in the heart of downtown—walkable to restaurants, coffee, and everything along Main Ave. If you stay downtown (at the Strater or elsewhere), you'll need to coordinate your own transportation to the wedding venue about 20 minutes up the valley.
Getting Around
Durango is a small mountain town, and rideshares like Uber and Lyft are limited—especially late at night or up the valley.
Rent a Car
We strongly recommend renting a car for the weekend. Having a car gives you the most flexibility to explore Southwest Colorado, grab meals around town, and get to trailheads.
Private Transportation
If you choose not to rent a car, you'll need to arrange private transportation to and from the airport and for any other travel during your stay in advance.

Questions & Answers
A few things guests tend to wonder about. Don't see yours? Just reach out.
Please arrive by 4:15 PM to allow time to be seated — the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM.
Friday (Welcome Party): All guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from Lola's Place. Most downtown hotels are within walking distance. If you're staying up the valley, plan on the ~25 minute drive.
Saturday (Wedding Day): Guests staying downtown will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the venue (~20 min drive). Guests staying at Tamarron/Glacier Club are about a 5–10 minute walk to Prospector.
Due to space limitations, we're only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If you're unsure who's included, please check your RSVP — or feel free to reach out!
While we love kids, our wedding weekend will be an adults-only (18+) celebration. Please refer to your invitation or RSVP to see who is included in your party.
Mountain weather can vary quite a bit — expect warm, sunny days and noticeably cooler evenings. Layers are your friend, and comfortable shoes are encouraged for all events. We recommend checking the forecast as the weekend approaches!
Your presence is truly the only gift we need — we are not registered anywhere. If you feel compelled to give, we'd love for you to consider donating to a charity that's meaningful to you, and tell us about it!
Hell yeah brother. 🐶
While You're in Town
Durango is one of our favorite places on earth — here's how we'd spend a few extra days. Highly recommend making a trip of it.
The Great Outdoors
Southwest Colorado is an outdoor paradise — September is one of the best times of year to be here. The aspens are turning gold and the crowds have thinned out.
Castle Rock Trail
Riley's personal favorite hike — and conveniently right near the wedding venue. A gorgeous climb with incredible views of the valley. Do it Saturday morning before getting ready and you'll feel like you earned the celebration.
Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
A 3.5-hour steam train ride through the San Juan Mountains that's been running since 1882. Book in advance — it sells out. One of those things that sounds touristy but absolutely delivers.
Million Dollar Highway to Silverton & Ouray
Rent a car and drive this legendary stretch of US-550. Silverton is a perfectly preserved mining town; Ouray is straight-up Switzerland in Colorado with natural hot springs right in town. Give yourself a full day.
Golf at Glacier Club
The Valley Course at Glacier Club is right on the wedding property and one of the most scenic rounds you'll ever play. If you're interested in getting a game in while you're here, reach out to Riley — he'll sort it out.
Purgatory Resort
About 25 minutes up the valley from Glacier Club. No skiing needed in September — the chairlift runs for sightseeing and the mountain biking trails are world-class. Worth the quick drive.
Our Favorites
We've eaten our way around this town more than once. These are the places we actually take people when they visit.
James Ranch Grill
The best burger in the world. Not hyperbole. A working family farm north of town that raises its own beef — you can taste it. Try the cheese they make on-site and explore local products in the market.
El Moro Spirits & Tavern
Our go-to for a nicer dinner downtown. Great cocktails, fantastic food, beautiful old building. The kind of place that feels like a Durango institution — because it is.
Zia Taqueria
A Durango staple and a local favorite. Casual, delicious, and always worth the wait. Get the green chile anything.
Olde Schoolhouse Café & The Nugget
Two beloved spots near each other up the valley, popular with the locals who live out this way. Don't be shy — the locals don't bite. Great food, zero pretension, and a totally different vibe from downtown.
Durango Coffee Company
The local coffee shop worth seeking out. A great place to start a morning before a hike or a lazy day of wandering — grab a cup and get your bearings.
Ska Brewing
Our favorite brewery in town — a little outside of downtown but worth the trip. Big outdoor space, great vibe, and the beer is consistently excellent. A perfect afternoon stop.
