WELCOME PARTY

Lola's Place

Visit website

Downtown Durango.

Friday, September 25 · 5:30–9:30 PM

Everyone is invited to join us for dinner (tacos) and drinks to kick off the wedding weekend! This will be a very casual event — come and go as you want! Plan on coordinating your own transportation to/from this event.

Attire: Casual. Think jeans, sweaters, and a jacket. This event will be indoor/outdoor — it gets chilly in the evenings!

WEDDING & RECEPTION

Prospector at Glacier

Visit website

Located about 20 minutes north of downtown Durango.

Saturday, September 26 · 4:30 PM – until they kick us out

4:30–5:00 PM: Wedding Ceremony (outdoors, weather permitting)

5:00 PM onwards: Cocktails, dinner, and dancing (outdoors/indoors, weather permitting)

Attire: Relaxed cocktail. Think cocktail dresses and dark jeans with a blazer (no tie required). If you want to lean into western wear, Durango is the perfect place — cowboy boots, bolo ties, and hats are welcome.

Prospector at Glacier Club is on the same property as the Tamarron Lodge. It's about a 5–10 minute walk from each other, so transportation will not be provided.

Getting to Durango

We know Durango isn't the easiest place to get to—but we promise Southwest Colorado is worth the journey.

FLY

Durango–La Plata County Airport (DRO)

The easiest way to arrive. A small regional airport about 20 minutes to downtown Durango and another ~20 minutes up the valley to Glacier Club. Rental cars are available on site.

FLY

Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ)

A great alternative with more flight options. Roughly a 3.5-hour drive to Durango through beautiful New Mexico and southern Colorado scenery. Rental cars are readily available.

DRIVE

Road Trip from Denver

About a 6.5–7 hour drive through the San Juan Mountains. If you're turning the weekend into a Colorado adventure, some of our favorite stops along the way include Buena Vista, Del Norte, and Pagosa Springs.

Accommodations

While our events are only over the weekend, Southwest Colorado is an incredible place to explore. If you're able, we'd highly recommend making a little trip out of it—feel free to reach out with any ideas, since we'll be in the area for weeks on both sides of the wedding.

Highly recommended

Tamarron Resort (Onsite at Glacier Club)

Our top suggestion for the weekend. Renting a unit at Tamarron keeps you up the valley and close to the wedding festivities. Units in Tamarron Lodge or Pine Cone are under a 5‑minute walk to the venue. Gambel Oak is also a great Tamarron option, just a slightly longer walk. Browse units here.

We have a 10% discount code for Tamarron—use RETURN10 at checkout.

Downtown

The Strater Hotel

Visit website

A classic Durango stay right in the heart of downtown—walkable to restaurants, coffee, and everything along Main Ave. If you stay downtown (at the Strater or elsewhere), you'll need to coordinate your own transportation to the wedding venue about 20 minutes up the valley.

Getting Around

Durango is a small mountain town, and rideshares like Uber and Lyft are limited—especially late at night or up the valley.

BEST OPTION

Rent a Car

We strongly recommend renting a car for the weekend. Having a car gives you the most flexibility to explore Southwest Colorado, grab meals around town, and get to trailheads.

NO CAR?

Private Transportation

If you choose not to rent a car, you'll need to arrange private transportation to and from the airport and for any other travel during your stay in advance.

While You're in Town

Durango is one of our favorite places on earth — here's how we'd spend a few extra days. Highly recommend making a trip of it.

Get Outside

The Great Outdoors

Southwest Colorado is an outdoor paradise — September is one of the best times of year to be here. The aspens are turning gold and the crowds have thinned out.

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

A 3.5-hour steam train ride through the San Juan Mountains that's been running since 1882. Book in advance — it sells out. One of those things that sounds touristy but absolutely delivers.

Million Dollar Highway to Silverton & Ouray

Rent a car and drive this legendary stretch of US-550. Silverton is a perfectly preserved mining town; Ouray is straight-up Switzerland in Colorado with natural hot springs right in town. Give yourself a full day.

Purgatory Resort

About 25 minutes up the valley from Glacier Club. No skiing needed in September — the chairlift runs for sightseeing and the mountain biking trails are world-class. Worth the quick drive.

Eat & Drink

Our Favorites

We've eaten our way around this town more than once. These are the places we actually take people when they visit.

El Moro Spirits & Tavern

Our go-to for a nicer dinner downtown. Great cocktails, fantastic food, beautiful old building. The kind of place that feels like a Durango institution — because it is.

Zia Taqueria

A Durango staple and a local favorite. Casual, delicious, and always worth the wait. Get the green chile anything.

Olde Schoolhouse Café & The Nugget

Two beloved spots near each other up the valley, popular with the locals who live out this way. Don't be shy — the locals don't bite. Great food, zero pretension, and a totally different vibe from downtown.

Durango Coffee Company

The local coffee shop worth seeking out. A great place to start a morning before a hike or a lazy day of wandering — grab a cup and get your bearings.
